The Compact has long enjoyed the benefits and generosity of our vendors. We appreciate them, and we can’t thank them enough. Nutron OSM has been a group/vendor which has consistently stood out when working with some of our individual agencies and the Prevention Education Working Team. We purchase from them, but many of you may not realize that their donation of materials to us has been huge.
As an official US Forest Service Smokey Bear Licensee, Nutron has worked with us to customize materials to fit our prevention needs…this includes ‘jumping hoops’ to abide with our different purchasing protocols. Their Fire Danger Signs are used throughout the compact area and they’ve produced bilingual English/French Fire Danger Signs for Canadian Border States. These Fire Danger Signs have assisted us in notifying the public of conditions and potential for wildfire to occur. Their similar bookmarks with the fire danger level descriptions can be found in dispatch centers all over the northeast.

This letter is in reference to the business between the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Nutron OSM.
The Division of Forestry has conducted business with Nutron OSM for approximately five years. During that time, the Division has purchased a variety of Smokey Bear signs and educational items, fire danger indicator signs, as well as custom signage and graphic artist services from Nutron OSM.
All products created by Nutron OSM have been durable, attractive, and extremely high quality. Additionally, all Nutron OSM staff that has interfaced with Division personnel has been very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable about their industry.
Overall, working with Nutron OSM has been a pleasure, and their high-quality products have been a great addition to Ohio Division of Forestry projects.

Dear Ms,
Please be informed that Nutron OSM has been awarded contracts through the state bidding process three times: DEM 176, DCR 272 and the currently active DCR 348.
Placing this highly “user friendly” and easy to work with vendor on FIR03 would be a great asset to the DCR’s Bureau of Forest Fire Control. Nutron OSM manufactures many of the items we need to ensure better wildland fire and emergency protection to the citizenry of the Commonwealth. We have outfitted the majority of the Commonwealth’s fire departments and towns with protective ‘fire danger potential’ signage they manufactured for us. Other purchases from the above contracts have included prevention/education materials disbursed at fairs, schools and fire departments.
Although our purchases have been wildfire specific, the scope of their available materials goes far. Especially with all the information giving, emergency and recreational type state and local services who make Massachusetts a safer embodiment.
I have found Nutron OSM to be a vendor who is efficacious. They have been open to suggestion and have manufactured items specific to our particular needs. The vendor has been very accessible in that representatives make themselves available to us at area conferences and meetings. They are quick to send out the orders we have placed.
I believe agencies outside of my “outfit” will also benefit greatly from their service and product line. Especially with what we have here in the DCR’s Bureau of Forest Fire Control.

I have been trying for several years to find a sign like this. I Love it! Duane brought this down for our department’s 30th Anniversary. We had a Firewise Communities display set up and put the sign next to this. I’ll send a picture. The sign is weather proof, easy to change, secure (need the key to change the danger level) and highly visible. We are going to put this sign at one of our outlaying stations. And attempt to obtain 2 more double sided signs. One will be at our main station and the other in the southeast part of our district. I have already had other fire personnel ask about the sign. I’ll take some pictures or video of our installation and send it to you…Thanks again for letting Duane find a home for this sign.
